Research at the KMU-HSG
Research at the KMU-HSG focuses on SMEs, entrepreneurship and family business. Above and beyond the generation of new knowledge about issues relevant to SMEs, we attach particular importance to transferring such knowledge into practice.
The Institute's research foci: SMEs, Entrepreneurship and Family Business
Within the key fields of SMEs, Entrepreneurship and Family Business, the KMU-HSG conducts basic and applied research at both national and international level. Research projects are made accessible through publications in German-, English- and French-language journals and through contributions to conferences, and they are discussed in the scientific community. The Institute's own organisation of conferences, primarily the Rencontres de St-Gall, additionally allows for an open exchange of experience and a dialogue with researchers from all over the world.
Knowlege transfer in teaching and practice
The transfer of knowledge from research into teaching and practice is an important consituent of our activities. It is facilitated and encouraged by the high degree of practical relevance of many or our research projects. Some of our projects are specially commissioned and thus realised directly with and for practice.
